![]() to do what you actually want brian already answered, make the "legs" separate parts, use processes and tell s3d to print processes sequentially, it works like a charm except that with such small parts cooling can be a big issue and if you are using any of the systems for cooling apart from the fan (prime/cooling pillar, ooze shield.) it will be a problem. infill on one, infill on second.) and for stringy machine it will be hell of a lot stringy but the islands will have time to cool between prints and will print nicely. when you click this option you get multiple "jumps" between islands (perimeter on one, perimeter one second. so there is only one jump from island to island for every layer, this can get the island to overheat and mush up. also when i hit prepare to print, the layer view shows all three. but when i center and arrange, all 3 parts affect the arrangement, it doesn't just center the 1 part in the center of the building plate. is it now possible to print just 1 of the 3 parts i un-check 2 of the parts and they disappear. as when this is not selected S3D will optimize movements and print a whole layer of that single island, then move to another island, do the thing, move to third etc. i bring into s3d, separate connected surfaces. selecting it will do opposite of what you want but can be very useful when printing without part cooling fan, for e.g. ![]() When you are mentioning these issues, to add, in the layer tab there is "print islands sequentially." option that affects this.
